Ansonia Marble Mantle Clock: 8 day time with half hour gong striking movement. The 4 1/2″ fancy brass dial with raised numbers has an uncommon visible escapement. The case is black slate with engraved designs and vertical marble inserts.
(The slate corners on the case’s lower front have small chips.)

Figural Marble & Bronze Mantle Clock. Bronze seated figure of a young philosopher holding a pen and a scroll, he sits on the bronze clock tower with a black marble stepped base having acanthus leaf trim and large claw feet, beautiful medium brown patina. 4.5 in. black marble dial with applied brass Roman hour numerals, gilt spade hands and hinged brass door bezel with beveled crystal; round brass 8 day spring driven movement with a half hour strike on a coiled gong. In beautiful condition, no breaks or losses, unsigned, very high quality casting. 29 in. high x 24.5 in. wide x 11 in. deep.

French Figural Marble & Bronze Mantle Clock. Gilt bronze seated figure of a philosopher with a pen and a basket of paper scrolls, black marble clock tower with arched top, black marble base with green marble inset panels on the front and sides with gilt bronze mounts and trim. 4 in. porcelain dial with open moon hands; round French brass 8 day spring driven movement signed ÂJapy Freres & ÂRollin a ParisÂ, has a half hour strike on a bell. Black marble has a few breaks and repairs, front feet are broken off but we do have them, no hairlines in the dial. 17 in. high x 21.5 in. wide x 7.5 in. deep.

Marble & Bronze Mantle Clock. Black marble case with relief decorated plaque of playful putti, standing figural robed maidens leaning in to the corners and a fancy medallion design around the bezel & door glass; bronze has a medium brown and copper colored patina. 4 in. black marble dial has gilt incised Roman hour numeral, gilt spade and pointer hands and dial signed ÂStuart & Shepard, New YorkÂ; round, brass, spring driven movement has a quarter hour strike on 2 coiled gongs. Movement is not running or striking. 13.5 in. high x 17 in. wide x 7 in. deep.

Ansonia “Rossini Variant” Marble Mantle Clock: With an 8 day, 1/2 hour gong strike movement and an ornate, unmarked metal dial with embossed numbers, visible escapement with a cherub in a hammock and a back scene of a cottage and trees. In a black case with red marble columns, side and bottom plates, an etched decoration of leaves and gilt decorations.
The clock runs when wound.
(Once the gong strikes it keeps on striking. The gong has a dead sound to it. There is no pendulum or key with the clock.)
