Ansonia “Delft” Mantel Clock, late 19th c., with an open escapement, the case with floral decoration and a central cartouche of a windmill scene, H.- 11 3/4 in., W.- 10 1/4 in., D.- 4 7/8 in.
Condition
As found. Not tested for working order. The outer half of the rear right foot is broken and lacking. There is a ½ chip at the top of the lions head surmount. There is a long surface crack running the length of the left side of the case. The glaze has a fine craquelure pattern throughout. There are some small brown spots along the left side of the front of the case. Nice decorative quality. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD AS IS. The following treasure is from the living estate of Ailene & Buddy Ford; noted dealers and lifelong collectors of exceptional antique & vintage heirlooms. Presented for your consideration this Ansonia Clock Co. Blue Delft porcelain case, “Saranac” model, ca 1900. As I state there are no blue delft clocks shown in the catalogs. The very knowledgeable folks that built this collection some-where found the picture and name, this clock is extremely rare. It is 12 inches high, well painted Dutch scenes all over the front, sides, and top. Like all china clocks by Ansonia, typical movement, pendulum, door, sash, one piece porcelain dial. They come up very seldom. *** Weight: 8# – Measurements: 8.5 x 12 inches tall
