Carved Oak Herschedes/Revere 7 Tube Chiming Hall Clock, engraved brass dial signed James E Caldwell & Co, Philadelphia, electric movement, ornate figural carved oak case, waist door with beveled glass and ornate black overlay. It is our opinion that the case is about 30 years older than the movement, likely having originally contained a weight driven movement, probably a tube striking JJ Elliot type. The color of the crutches on which the electric movement is supported are of a different natural color than the inside of the case. Herschedes and Revere began manufaturing electric hall clocks in 1926, with 5,7, and 9 tube movements. THE SN on this movement is 106984, dating to about 1931. It would be a simple matter to add back a correct movement, and you'd have a great clock!!!!! 102"h x 31"w x 19"d
