French Bronze Figural Mantle Clock. Dore bronze figure of a man playing a lyre and seated on a boulder, on the other side of the boulder stands a woman playing castanets. 3 in. brass dial signed ÂA. Dorant, St. Jean dÂAngleyÂ, round French brass 8 day spring driven movement signed S. Marti, has an half hour bell strike. Clock is missing bell and pendulum, female figure is missing her castanets, front door bezel missing its crystal; movement is in very nice overall condition, running and striking. 20 in. high x 14 in. wide x 5.25 in. deep. Gilt bronze case depicts 2 putti seated on the top with a nest of baby birds at their feet, a dove in the lower left beside a bird cage and the center figure holds a dove up in his left hand; has a fancy swirling filigree decorated base with painted porcelain inserts on either side of the 3.5 in. porcelain dial. Typical round brass spring driven 8 day movement has an half hour bell strike and is signed ÂJapy Freres & ÂRollin A ParisÂ. In good condition, running, striking and has an overall clean gilt finish; sm. chip on the dial around the strike arbor hole. 13 in. high x 13 in. wide x 4 in. deep.

French Figural Bronze Mantle Clock. 4 in. bronze dial with black painted Roman hour numerals and open moon hands, decorated around the chapter ring and in the center with a grapevine pattern, the dial is shown hanging in a long drapery being carried by a flying winged putti figure, raised up on a long column; the base is decorated with a winged cupid figure lounging by the waterside with a cluster of grapes in one hand and goblet in the other, a pair of doves are perched on a stone wall beside him. Has a typical round brass spring driven movement with half hour count wheel strike mechanism on a bell; movement signed ÂChappe, A ParisÂ. The long bronze gridiron pendulum has a large relief decorated bronze bob with maidens head having long flowing hair entwined with grape clusters and grapevine decorated wreath outside. Minute hand is broken at the end. 21 in. high x 10 in. wide x 5 in. deep.

On top of the clock is a seated figure of a woman wearing long flowing garments, she is leaning on her right hip with her feet to her left side, in her left hand she holds a bouquet of flowers and gazes down at a butterfly she is holding in her right hand; to the left is a standing woven basket which is overflowing with flowers, has aesthetic design throughout the base, standing on claw feet with inset porcelain panels in the front. 3.5 in. dia. porcelain dial has black Roman hour numerals and pierced trefoil hands; typical round brass spring driven movement with bell strike, signed with Japy Freres 1855 Exposition mark.
